Shortly before the Europe Day festival on 9 May 2026 in Apach, Perl and Schengen, mobilisation is growing in the towns involved. On this occasion, Radio Tripoint met Anne Wolf, deputy mayor of Apach.
For the local councillor, one thing is clear: “Apach is at the heart of the 9 May festival,” she says.
Several means of communication are already being used to keep residents well informed. “We have our usual channels, such as Facebook with Le Petit Apachois, but also documents distributed to people who aren't on social media, as well as support from the community of municipalities' tourist office,” she explains.
But beyond the technical means, it is above all the village's DNA that plays a key role. Apach stands out for its active community associations and lively village life.
“Apach is a lively village with a dynamic community life. Residents are used to being informed about and involved in events in their area,” stresses Anne Wolf.
An area that takes on an even more symbolic dimension on this occasion: that of Europe.
At the crossroads of three countries, the 9 May event fully embodies the cross-border spirit.
The deputy mayor therefore makes a clear appeal to the public:
“We encourage all our residents to celebrate Europe together with the Germans and Luxembourgers, but also to have fun and — if they don't know them yet — to discover the treasures of our area.”
A message of conviviality, exchange and openness, fully in keeping with this festival, which aims to bring people together far beyond borders.
