The 2026 World Cup is drawing to a close and the final fixtures are now known. Beaten 2–0 by Spain in the semi-final, the French team will play one last match against England, who were themselves knocked out 2–1 by Argentina.
Les Bleus will be aiming to secure third place and end their tournament with a win. The third-place play-off will take place on Saturday 18 July at 11 pm French time at Miami Stadium, also known as the Hard Rock Stadium.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the final, France can still finish on the podium. Facing a particularly solid English side, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates will need to rediscover their efficiency and energy to end this World Cup on a positive note.
The next day, Sunday 19 July at 9 pm French time, Spain and Argentina will meet in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium. A heavyweight clash between La Roja, who knocked out France, and defending champions Argentina, who want to keep their crown.
France will not lift the trophy this year, but can still leave the tournament with a medal and a prestigious win over their great rivals England.
Everyone behind Les Bleus until the final whistle!
