World Cup 2026: Les Bleus cruise past Sweden and into the last 16.

The French team confirmed their status as favourites on Tuesday evening, comfortably beating Sweden 3–0 in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. Solid in every area of the pitch, Didier Deschamps' men gradually took control of the match before showing their clinical edge.

After several clear chances, Kylian Mbappé put France ahead just before half-time (45'). After the break, Bradley Barcola quickly doubled the lead (53') following a fine team move. Unstoppable throughout the match, Mbappé scored his second in the 74th minute to seal the win.

With a fourth consecutive win in the tournament, Les Bleus are showing impressive confidence and confirming their ambition of winning a third world title. The next hurdle will be higher, however: a last-16 tie against Paraguay.
