The 2026 Castle Festival is over. For this special edition, which also marked the association's 30th anniversary, Radio Tripoint met Marie Triffaut, the association's treasurer, to look back on the weekend, this year's choices, the volunteers' commitment and the public's reactions.

Radio Tripoint: Hello, Ms Triffaut. The Castle Festival has just ended. What is your initial assessment?

Marie Triffaut: This edition went very well. Above all, we had very good feedback from the groups and exhibitors, who were delighted with our welcome and our organisation.

As for visitors, the feedback we received was mostly very positive. Many said they were happy and impressed by what was on offer.

Some medieval enthusiasts were disappointed, however. But this year's project was precisely to break with conventions, in particular to celebrate the association's 30 years.

Radio Tripoint: The weekend was also marked by a storm. How did you cope?

Marie Triffaut: The storm didn't spare us, but we quickly got back on our feet. The service provider reacted incredibly quickly.

We also had a very nice surprise: people came along spontaneously after seeing our posts, to help us. Among them were former volunteers, but also people who had never volunteered before.

Radio Tripoint: What role do volunteers play for the castle and the association?

Marie Triffaut: Without the association, the castle might have had an uncertain future 30 years ago. And without volunteers, there is no association.

One without the other, we are nothing in this building.

So I would like to thank them once again and congratulate all my colleagues on the board for their incredible voluntary work. They worked on this event for a whole year.

We are a team!

Radio Tripoint: A final word for the public who came this weekend?

Marie Triffaut: Thank you to the public who came to see us this weekend!

We hope that the journey through the corridors of time carried them away, and that medieval enthusiasts won't hold it against us too much that we stepped out of our usual habits.

We certainly had a huge amount of fun!

And although the fireworks unfortunately couldn't take place, the public provided real fireworks of their own!

Radio Tripoint thanks Marie Triffaut for this interview, as well as all the volunteers, groups, exhibitors and participants who brought this 2026 edition of the Castle Festival to life.
