Luxembourg National Day: Schengen and Remich at the heart of the celebrations.
Every year on 23 June, Luxembourg celebrates its National Day.

Every year on 23 June, Luxembourg celebrates its National Day. Much more than a simple public holiday, this date is an opportunity for Luxembourgers to come together around their history, their traditions and their attachment to the Grand Duchy.
All over the country, towns organise concerts, events, official ceremonies and fireworks. On the Luxembourg Moselle, Schengen and Remich are among the symbolic places where residents and visitors enjoy a festive atmosphere by the water.
Schengen has a special place in European history. It was here, in 1985, that the agreement paving the way for free movement between several European countries was signed. A few kilometres away, Remich, often called the “Pearl of the Moselle”, attracts many visitors every year with its promenade, its terraces and its unique quality of life.
This edition of the National Day also comes at an important time for the Grand Duchy. Since Grand Duke Guillaume's accession to the throne, Luxembourg has continued to pursue its ambition of combining modernity, closeness to its citizens and European openness while remaining true to its traditions.
On the doorstep of France and Germany, the celebrations have a special meaning in the Three Borders. Many people cross the borders every day to work, study or share moments together, making this region a true symbol of European cooperation.
On National Day, Radio Tripoint pays tribute to Schengen, Remich and everyone who keeps this unique border region alive.
Happy National Day to all Luxembourgers!
