France – Spain: facing racism, Les Bleus want to respond on the pitch.

Just a few hours before the 2026 World Cup semi-final between France and Spain, another match is sadly making the headlines: the fight against racism.

In recent days, several comments and attacks targeting the French national team and some of its players have caused great outrage. The remarks by former Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, describing the French team as a team “without French people”, were widely condemned in both France and Spain. Several politicians, as well as players from the Spanish squad themselves, condemned these remarks.

The French national team is a reflection of the Republic: diverse, united and carried by women and men who proudly represent their country's colours. Nationality, commitment and love for the shirt are not measured by skin colour or origin.

At Radio Tripoint, we remind everyone that France is one and indivisible. Any attempt to set citizens against each other or divide society with hate speech must find no echo.

Tonight, Les Bleus have the chance to respond in the finest way possible: on the pitch. With their talent, team spirit and determination, they will stand for the values of sport, respect and living together.
