In an international context marked by political tensions, conflicts and growing pressure on the media, this day takes on particular significance. According to several organisations, many journalists around the world continue to face threats, censorship and even violence in their work.
In Europe as elsewhere, vigilance is needed. Although press freedom is generally protected, certain trends, notably disinformation and economic pressure, weaken the balance of the media landscape.
