In Bouzonville, the Norbert Noël sports hall is about to write a new chapter in its history. After just over two years of works, the building has undergone an extensive renovation, representing an investment of around two million euros.

During our visit to the site, we were able to see the scale of the transformation. Paintwork, floors, stands, toilets, changing rooms and forecourt: many areas have been renovated to provide athletes, clubs and users with a modernised facility. Beyond appearances, the works also focused on the building's energy performance, a key issue for improving how it runs and keeping consumption under better control.

An investment for the future!

Why undertake a project on such a scale? That is one of the questions we put to Armel Chabane, Mayor of Bouzonville, in an interview to be broadcast soon on Radio TriPoint.

During the conversation, the mayor stressed the need to restore the building. The investment aims to preserve a facility that is essential to local life while adapting it to today's needs.

In a town where sports facilities play an important role in community life and in bringing generations together, this renovation represents an investment for the future.

Norbert Noël, a key figure in the rebuilding of Bouzonville!

But this sports hall does not stand out for its renovation alone. It bears the name of Norbert Noël, a prominent figure in Bouzonville's history, particularly associated with the rebuilding of the town after the Second World War.

The name gives the building an additional heritage dimension. A town's history is not passed on solely through its monuments and archives: it also lives on in everyday places used by residents, young people, athletes and clubs.

Linking Norbert Noël's name to a public facility firmly embeds his memory in the town's landscape and allows new generations to discover the men and women who helped rebuild and develop their town.

An opening that bridges modernity and heritage!

The official opening scheduled for 24 October will mark an important milestone for Bouzonville. After a lengthy project, the Norbert Noël sports hall embodies a twofold ambition: to provide facilities suited to today's uses and to celebrate the personalities who shaped local history.

For Radio TriPoint, this renovation illustrates a key challenge for local areas: preparing for the future while preserving collective memory.

A renovated building, modernised facilities and a name steeped in history: in Bouzonville, the Norbert Noël sports hall tells more than just a story of building works. It also tells the story of a town that keeps moving forward without forgetting its roots.
