It is a launch that has not gone unnoticed in the motoring world. After several years of waiting, Tesla has unveiled the new generation of its Roadster, an electric sports car developed with technologies inspired by SpaceX, Elon Musk's space company.

At the presentation, held in Texas, the American manufacturer showcased a prototype capable of performing particularly impressive manoeuvres. Among other things, the vehicle climbed a spectacular ramp before rotating in mid-air and returning to the ground thanks to an integrated propulsion system.

An electric car with extraordinary ambitions.

Beyond its sporty design, the new Roadster is banking on performance billed as exceptional. Elon Musk claims the vehicle could go from 0 to 60 miles per hour, or around 97 km/h, in under a second in certain conditions.

The most ambitious version, dubbed "Rocket", is set to feature a propulsion system inspired by space technology. Tesla also mentions a top speed of over 370 km/h for this configuration.

These figures and the spectacular capabilities on display should nonetheless be treated with caution: the demonstrations took place in a controlled environment and are no indication of how a production vehicle would perform on the open road.

A market launch still awaited.

The next-generation Roadster has been a long time coming since it was first unveiled in 2017. Tesla is now announcing that production will begin in 2028, but several details have yet to be confirmed, notably the final price and the approval requirements for the most advanced technologies.

For while the launch footage offers a striking glimpse of what the electric sports car could become, the question of its use on European roads remains wide open. The systems allowing the vehicle to propel itself into the air cannot be considered authorised on public roads without regulatory approval.

A passion for cars still going strong in the Greater Region.

In France, Luxembourg and Germany, the car plays an important role in both daily life and leisure. Between enthusiasts' meets, motor shows, racing circuits and new technology, the Greater Region has an audience that keeps a close eye on developments in the sector.

With this Roadster, Tesla is seeking to push the boundaries of the electric car and turn technology into a real spectacle. It remains to be seen whether this spectacular demonstration will translate into a production vehicle capable of living up to all its promises.

One thing is certain: the new Roadster is not leaving motoring enthusiasts indifferent.
