Trappes: one dead and four injured, racist motive at the heart of the investigation
A shooting in Trappes and La Verrière, in the Yvelines, on Friday 23 October left one person dead and four injured. The national anti-terrorism prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, notably into acts that may be linked to a racist motive.

The shots were fired from a vehicle, at several locations, over a period of less than fifteen minutes. The suspect has been arrested and taken into police custody.
The mayor of Trappes, Ali Rabeh, spoke of a possible racist and Islamophobic attack. These motives have yet to be established by the courts.
This attack once again raises the issue of hate-motivated violence and the protection of people targeted because of their origins or their religion.
The investigation will have to establish the precise circumstances of the events and the suspect's motives.
Radio Tripoint will follow developments in this case.
